I'd never paid much attention to Amelia and Fred until one day when I was about 13 my father sat me down and told me the whole story. He never said much of anything else to me. I think it was his tale that got me interested in sailing. LOL Funny how those early impressions stay with us. Reminds me of an incident with my dad which gave me a distaste for circus clowns. Dad took me to the circus when I was 7 years old, and politely asked a clown he would give me one of the balloons he had for 2 dollars. The clown jumped on my dad and cut his throat, killing him instantly. Just never cared for clowns after that. (Jack Handy rehash) --Vic |
