My daughter has a Nikon D80 that I worry about more than she does when she
brings it out in the boat. I have a Canon A60 that is crapping out and I'm
thinking about getting a replacement. Someone on another board mentioned
waterproof cameras like this one...

At $250 it is very attractive as a boat-safe camera. Anyone have opinions or
advice on this or other models to look at?

Great report, go ahead and post your daughters pics too, anyone not
interested can skip. Mrs. JW sat and looked at em' with me too. Alas,
I have the big camera so I rearely carry it unless it is needed for
more precision work, otherwise my wife and kids carry the portable
ones. I am going to drop em' off tonight and may stop at the lake, so
I might just bring mine along.

I had bought my wife a couple of the preceding years' versions of this
Pentax waterproof model and they both ended up not working. I am
intrigued though that the description talks a lot about improved
waterproofness, I guess they realized they had some room for
improvement. For my wife's next digital waterproof (I pretty much
have to provide her with a working one in order to motivate her to
come on waverunner cruises with me!) I have been looking at the
SeaLife ecoShot SL321 model which is very compact and has some good
user feedback on Amazon.
