Trip reports?
Dunno about dock gas. Primo at my favorite watering hole is $3.29. Union
76; good stuff. JR JimH wrote: "JR North" wrote in message .. . I've been thinking about towing Cruis'n Rulz! to the gas station and filling her up while gas is still (relatively) low here.... JR What are your dock prices? Ours were $3.29 last weekend. Street prices spiked to $3.18 yesterday and were below $3 today. Generally the marinas around here do not raise/lower pump prices like the street stations do...........they base their price on the actual real time cost of gas purchased to fill up/top off their tanks. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Home Page: http://www.seanet.com/~jasonrnorth |

Swim, fish, saw my bud up at the lake last week working on an engine. We had a tuft a year or two ago and have not spoken since, now we will probably go fishin' again soon. Amazing what an hour at the lake can do. Anyway, Has anyone been frekin' boating? I'm going snook fishing tomorrow. I'll post updates when I get back, assuming I am not too tired from pullin on the linesiders to write. ok, no snook yesterday, but i blame it on lack of my ability to net some quality bait. went by the first secret spot, tried some artificials, to no avail. the guys near us landed about 10 that i counted in about 30 minutes. next found a place with some shrimp, so we bought a few dozen. then on the the next secret spot. we brought home our limite of redfish, with a 23-incher being the biggest landed of the day. the one that felt significantly bigger got off before being boated. oh well, i have the spot marked! also got a nice haul of 4 mangrove snapper too. the bycatch of small jacks, sailcats, pinfish, smaller mangroves, and a couple of ladyfish. the weather was warm and the sun was out. didn't get rained on once. |

Bunch of other people found out the secret even before me, because they were always there when I showed up. But I was always late and got there after they stopped feeding (-: --Vic |

We went out on Saturday with a friend of my oldest son and her Mom. They have never spent much time in Boston and none of it on a boat so it was fun to act as a tour guide of sorts. We launched at 9:00AM and didn't get back to the ramp until 11:00PM. In addition to sight seeing we tried some fishing outside the harbor. There were too many highlights to detail them all but here's a sampling... As we headed out into the harbor we wondered why the USS Constitution wasn't in her berth. Got any pics jusfrikawaitinminute? Steve P. The Monkey Butler Great report, go ahead and post your daughters pics too, anyone not interested can skip. Mrs. JW sat and looked at em' with me too. Alas, I have the big camera so I rearely carry it unless it is needed for more precision work, otherwise my wife and kids carry the portable ones. I am going to drop em' off tonight and may stop at the lake, so I might just bring mine along. |

Can't wait to see 'em. Great idea on the trip reports BTW. Where's everybody
else's? My daughter has a Nikon D80 that I worry about more than she does when she brings it out in the boat. I have a Canon A60 that is crapping out and I'm thinking about getting a replacement. Someone on another board mentioned waterproof cameras like this one... http://www.dpreview.com/news/0702/07022103pentaxw30.asp At $250 it is very attractive as a boat-safe camera. Anyone have opinions or advice on this or other models to look at? Steve P. The Monkey Butler wrote in message ups.com... On Jul 15, 1:47 pm, "Steve P" wrote: Got any pics jusfrikawaitinminute? Anyone have opinions or advice on this or other models to look at? I had bought my wife a couple of the preceding years' versions of this Pentax waterproof model and they both ended up not working. I am intrigued though that the description talks a lot about improved waterproofness, I guess they realized they had some room for improvement. For my wife's next digital waterproof (I pretty much have to provide her with a working one in order to motivate her to come on waverunner cruises with me!) I have been looking at the SeaLife ecoShot SL321 model which is very compact and has some good user feedback on Amazon. richforman |
