Throttle Lag
 

My Yamaha T9.9 four stroke runs ok, but there is a problem with a lag in
response
to accelerating from very slow speed. Once the engine 'catches up', it runs
fine.
What can be causing this behavior?

I don't know much about boat engines but on a car I'd look at the
accelerater pump.
