Summer finally here?

Woo hoo! Time to get serious about boating.
Finished my 'add-on shed' project yesterday, the rain finally seems to be
letting up and the water finally tops 50 deg F.
Can't ask for much better than that!

Yesterday it was too damned hot to go boating. 98F shortly after noon,
and no breeze. Even the Japanese beetles were sleeping in the shade.

It's about time it got hot. Now they can stop dancing around "climate
change" and call it "global warming" again;)

The global climate phenomenon doesn't track the local weather in any
one region or even on any specific continent. The changes that are
occuring only amount to a few degrees in the annualized average
temperature on the planet, and there are even years when the
temperatures drop a little. The trend, particularly since 1950, has
definitely been going up faster and to higher numbers than at any time
in history- at least according to the very best "climate proxy"
science in which climates are researched by studying tree rings, ice
cores, soil bores, etc.

Up until a few years ago, nay-sayers could point out that science
supportss an observation that carbon levels in the atmosphere had
risen to present levels 3-4 times over the last million years or so.
According to the latest measurements, we're now into previously
unheard of carbon levels and climbing almost straight uup.

A pretty good source for legitimate and objective climate science:

.....although much of the material is pretty technical and will need to
be read slowly and thougtfully by most of us. Delving into the actual
science makes it very easy understand how the average person would
rather listen to a highly slanted and distilled sound byte that
includes a disparaging reference either to "liberal socialist Al Gore"
or "greedy Republican industrialists". :-)

I'm not exactly sure how "unbiased" they are, but reading through some
of the more interesting articles with the math to support them, I've
noticed some interesting, make that creative, use of data.

In particular the ones about mean global temperature.

Interesting site.
