Actually, his asking price is about $100k less than any of the
identical boats currently listed on Yachtworld, and it's $300k less
than the most expensive example. "worth it" is entirely subjective, of
course.

But the guy is a spammer indeed. His email address is the same as the
location of the yacht brokerage representing this boat.

Have you ever seen boat transfer ships? They are kind of interesting
- like little dry docks - bring the boat aboard, it's blocked, the
hold is unflooded and the ship takes off for where ever.

You see a couple of them every fall in Narragansett Bay taking sail
and power boats down to Florida. There are about ten/twelve boats per
trip and the last time I checked, they do two trips in the Fall. I
understand that it's not an expensive way to ship your boat.

I have a friend who purchased a fishing resort on the Atlantic side of
Costa Rica near a town called Puerto Viejo. He shipped three 45 foot
Viking Opens there as deck cargo on a freighter.

Raise the price $75-90k and you'll get more national interest. Folks
doing a YW search for that model will want to check out the least
expensive boat in the batch, but when you're $100k under second place
people begin to ask "why?".

Don't despair. There probably weren't more than a couple of dozen of
those sold brand new, and the vast majority of the time the dealer
probably had to over-allow like crazy on a late model trade-in.

With housing prices struggling to tread water and the second-mortgage
ATM presently out of service, people once again feel like they're
spending "real money" to buy a big yacht. For most people, $600k still

that group would certainly include yours truly).

See that all the time too with boats coming down Rt. 44 and 395.

Well it looks like the boat has sold.. The boat was actually in great
condition freshwater/one-owner/always undercover.. Owner just doesn't
have the time to use the boat and is currently out west.

The market has been very strange this year in the midwest. Smaller
bow-rider type boats are gold. I've got plenty of freshwater sea
ray's for sale right now at wholesale numbers and cannot get much
action.

As far as moving this boat.. Yes it is a 2 trailer move. we
disassemble the boat and put the bridge on a seperate trailer.
unfourtanley at lake of the ozarks we have to do it everyday theres no
other way to get these boats to our lake unfourtanley. We have a
bunch of these 56 and 57 voyagers on this lake along with some larger
boats. all have had to come in on 2 trucks.

A $600,000 barge of a boat on the Lake of the Ozarks is absurd. But I
guess it is the appropriate place for one of those monstrosities.

The last time I was down there, there were lots of beautiful inboard
mahogany runabouts just about everywhere, and for us normal folk, 16'
ski boats with outboards. Sounds like the place has really gone downhill.

the lake has changed ... It's amazing the number of big boats that
are on our lake. I agree that soon they need to put a cap on it. As
far as the boat being chartered this boat was never chartered.. There
is a 53 carver down here that I know someone owns that does charter
the boat.

selling the craft at seemingly quite a loss, if instead, the owner
could have had it chartered, for a profit, or at least a break even
proposition, and still use it when it was eventually convenient for

Lake of the Ozarks is a massively huge lake. Where those party pics
were taken is but a small cove. You could Put 20 of those Large
Carvers, and SeaRay's out in the main part of the lake, and even with
binoculars, you may be pressed to even see one....faintly

Told ya. Been there. Seen better tits and far fewer rowdy drunks at the
