Bug Killer

Well my De-O-Gee and I took the Brockway (16 x 6 foot flat bottom
wooden work/play skiff) out for a day trip yesterday to get some bugs
out and try the borrowed GPS. Had to clean a couple of connections out
for the fish finder to work, The rest of the wiring seemed ok, the
compass lights, the lights work.

Crystal lake (CT) was windy yesterday, I wished I had gone to the
River instead. I was fooling with a new bait caster I picked up and
got a nest on the first cast. Once I got it undone I had no more
problems with it, I prefer light spinning setups, but I guess I will
get used to it. Also going to have to get used to reeling with my
right hand. Hopefully I can get my elbow straightened out so I can
cast left handed again soon.

The boat cruises in the double digits! Yeah, I got 6.8 (six point
eight) with the 8 horse, no tide or wind, at full throttle, cruises
nice at about 5. This thing has big flat sides with little rake and no
keel so it is a little tough to troll in windy conditions but it was
fun.

All in all it was a good day on the water and I did catch a fish too.
As usual, I saw a guy pull out a good Bass too.

And like my father in law says. "Fishing is fun, more fun if you catch
a fish, but fishing is fun".

True. But one time on a charter we were pulling in so many jacks
there was little time to drink beer, so it can be a mixed blessing.
