Yeah, yeah, yeah, It'll be interesting to see the specs. I wonder if it
is derived from a car engine.

Not likely I would think.

Probably a 300 on steroids.

At the moment, Yamaha does not offer any V8 four cycle outboard.

Yeah - I just looked at the specs. 60 degree block, DOHC, 32 valves -
sounds like a car engine design.

Overkill though.

What a waste. Outboards. Hell, I have just about that much HP (and I'm
sure the 350 is way overrated) and I'll bet I can go three times as far on
the same amount of gas, with my I/O v-8.

Sounds suspiciously like the old Taurus SHO V-6. They would never put out
350 though. They were only 3 liters.

Seems like there is a small market for them.

Yeah - it does.

Didn't Yamaha make an engine for a auto company at one time?

I dunno. I can visualize a lot of guys who bought dual engine setups for
their 25-27' center consoles and cabin boats who might go for a single
350 instead. There's not going to be a lot of top end diff between a
single 350 and a pair of 200s because of the single-engine weight and
drag advantage. Must be a $30 grand retail outboard, though. Ouch.

Yeah, the 3.0 liter SHO taurus engine was a yamaha piece.

It's just what the doctor ordered for those big 35+ foot walkarounds.

Grady White has performance bulletins on their website for the F350's.

Compare the 360 Express with *triple* F250's vs. *twin* F350's. Performance
is near identical, but it will cost you about $12-15k less up front for the
twin engine setup plus another $1000/year in maintanence savings.

I disagree:

Nobody wants I/O's in a sal****er environment. If the boat is in the water
year 'round, that's a recipe for disaster.

I/O's have a deeper draft. Where I boat, draft is very important.

The fuel mileage on these four-strokes are just as good or better than gas
I/O's.

Small? Come to south Florida and witness the "small" market for them.
There are dozens upon dozens different brands of 30+ foot center console and
walkarounds that will be sporting a pair of those F350's in the next couple
of years.

I heard $26k. And that's the perfect motor for a 25' Parker with a single
engine.
