Probably not the way you want to go but GLM has brand new complete outdrives. Both upper and lower sections for about $1800 each piece. They are available complete (no wheel) or you can buy a new empty casing and install the old internals and wheel. I would get a GLM catalog. They make their own castings and supply just about every part for the stringer, cobra, Volvo SX and so on..except for the trim cylinders and trim sensor....apparently Bombardier still has the patient on those parts... I just bought a plastic (water pump) drive cover and the cast iron thermostat housing from them and the castings were beautiful. I was impressed. http://bpi.ebasicpower.com/mm5/merch..._Code=GLM28820 ($1695) mark |

I've seen many a beautiful 70's OMC boat go way cheap because people are afaid of the stringer units, being super costly to repair with scarce parts. I'm glad somebody picked them up and found a marcket nitch instead of a "glitch" |
