Replacing Volvo engine

Hello, I want to replace my 130 hp volvo engine because it has a bad
compression and I want more power. So I'm thinking about a 6 cylinder
engine. I have a Volvo 280 drive and what type of engine can I place right
on the drive? Can I use a 4.3 l V6 Mercruiser engine?
