New to boating...

I just moved to Florida and recently purchased a really big boat. I don't
know if I can handle a vessel this large. I may have overstepped my bounds.

FWIW, this boat is a 100' Azimut Jumbo.

It has twin deisel engines and I know jack diddly squat about either one of
them.

How much can one expect to pay weekly for a competent captain to pilot this
vessel? I'd like to put her out to sea and visit as many places as possible
for the next few years.

TIA,
Bluto

I've got a buddy in the BVI that usually charges $1500.per week for
deliveries etc.
He might cut you a deal on longer term employment.

I know several folks who own canoes who would be happy to be considered to
captain and crew your yacht.

Seriously, don't worry about taking her out on your own. If you hit
something just buy it. If you injure someone just pay them off. Just let
her rip.

If all else fails hire Popeye and Olive Oyl. You know them well. ;-)

You can find an incompetent captain cheap in Derby, Kansas.

But you can also secure a very competent Captain on the Chesapeake Bay by
the name of Harold Krause. He is a Yale graduate, married to a medical
doctor and owns a splendid lobster boat. I'm sure you will be very
satisfied with his services, as his reputation is unimpeachable.

Currently at the St. Pete yacht club, but I'm not really thrilled with their
service to price ratio.

I'm about to take this ship around the world for about 3 yBlutoears. Why
they want to try to take all my money before I leave port is beyond me.
