It was nasty around here today. I stayed at the dock. That is one of the reasons I purchased a radar system so I can see those storms far off enough so as to have time to head to port before it hits or if a localized storm dodge it.

The radar image looks like one of the typical (and perpetual) rainstorms we see in the Pac NW. We go boating in the rain aournd here.....because if we didn't we would *never* get away from the dock. Back where the weather is mostly dry this time of year, it undoubtedly makes more sense to postpone. We also seldom worry about thunderstorms, due of course to a lack of hot weather. |

Good thing you didn't venture out. 25-30 kt winds *should* keep nearly everybody in port, certainly including folks with most runabouts. My boat is a bit bigger, but my personal standard of comfort is to stay put when it's blowing 25 knots or better. |
