Wal-Mart announced that on January 1, 2007 they will begin offering
customers Wal-Mart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain teamed with Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery of California to produce the spirits at an affordable price in the $2- $5 range. "True wine connoisseurs may not throw a bottle of it into their shopping carts, but there is a market for inexpensive wine. The most important thing is that the Wal-Mart wine having the right name" said Kathy Micken, Professor at The University of Arkansas, Bentonville. "Our University Marketing Department conducted customer surveys to determine the most attractive name for the Wal-Mart wine brand." The top surveyed names in order of popularity we 10.
