Solar powered boat completes 7000 mile ocean voyage
 
No need to worry about fuel costs if you are content to run 5-6 knots.

Of course there have really been solar powered boats for thousands of
years. Wind is a byproduct of solar energy in the atmosphere.

Gasoline, diesel, hydroelectric, and every other form of energy we use
except nuclear is also Solar energy ... and maybe also except tidal
which has more to do with the moon than the sun.
