I can't get there from here.

Then plow the drive.

Or at least do the 'penguin walk' with your snowblower.

Depends on which one I decide to join. At least a dozen or more within an
hours drive and at least that many free ramps if I just decide to trailer.

year was over 30% empty, and wthe 30 ft and smaller were about 60%
empty. It will only get worse if the clowns push through the CO2 crap
and kill what is left of the auto companies here.

Not around here. Minimum length is 27' and it's about $120/ft for a
slip. That's if you can get one.

At Kingman Yacht Center where we have the boats, the slip fee (last year)
was $179.00 per foot plus either a $450 (30 amps) or $550 (50 amps) seasonal
fee for electricity. There is also a $150 town permit fee. The marina is
full every year with a waiting list for slips.

One of the best investments we made was to "buy" the slips rather than rent
them every year.
We still pay a small marina maintenance fee, but the market value of the
slips has doubled in 5 years.

If and when we sell the Navigator (big "if" again) and "if" we decided to
sell the slip (instead of holding it as an investment and leasing it out),
the difference in what the slip would sell for today versus what we
purchased it for 5 years ago will more than cover all the maintenance fees,
electricity, plus the winter storage fees, and yearly boat maintenance costs
(hauling, powerwashing, etc.) and taxes that we have paid since owning the
boat and still yield a return on our initial investment.

We really lucked out when the slips became available, particularly the
Navigator's slip.
It will accommodate a boat up to 55' LOA and is situated in a prime location
at the marina. Every year we have been approached by several people who
have offered to immediately buy it should we decide to sell it.

I think this is a unique situation in this part of the country due to the
scarcity of marinas and available slips.

115 miles, or two hours! It's killing me, but it's closer for the kids.

An asset doubling in value in five years represents a 14.87% annualized
internal rate of return over the holding period. Not bad, but I'd venture a
guess that it's probably not one of the best investments you've made.

On Carlyle lake in about 1985, it cost me about $1000.00 to slip my 27
ft Chris craft on a nine month lease. their idea of maintenance was to
give you a call, and tell you that your boat was listing. and that was
about it. rub rails in bad shape and slip/dock barrels rusted and
leaking and plank work in need of dire repair.

New owners have changed a lot of that around int he last 10 years, but
I don't slip a boat anymore.

nearest lake is 30 mi. next would be Wabash river at 50, Carlyle lake
at 60, Lake Shelbyville at 70, and Ren Lake at 75-80, Decatur Lake 90
mi.

I usually just go to carlyle. Big lake , some shallow spots but not
bad. Loads of fun.
