Default rivets

Has anyone ever used closed end blind pop rivets for rivet replacement
on aluminum boats.
They are suppossed to be water tight and can be installed with a pop
rivet type gun.

I wouldn't use them if I were you. I was able to buy aluminum rivets
at a real good hardware store by me, they had all kinds of sizes. I
pulled the boat out of the water, cleaned the area where the rivet
needed to be replaced. I put some 3M 5200 around the area on the
outside and pushed the rivet in from the outside. I put a sledge
hammer against the outside surface of the rivet (the problem rivet was
in the bottom, so I just laid the boat down and put the sledge hammer
head between the ground and the rivet head) and just hit the other
side of the rivet with a good size hammer a few times. The whole
repair took like half an hour, probably cost less than a dollar to do,
and it's been two years and it works like a champ, no leaks!!!
