Monitor cleaning -- Holy Shat
After trying shnapps, rubbing alcohol, cement, concrete, water, brandy,
steel wool, and a few other things, I've decided the best method for cleaning the monitor is to get a new monitor! What a thread that turned out to be. But, I do thank *all* of you for your input. -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

Use the little micro-fiber cloths that eyeglass people give out/sell.
My Raymarine radar came with one as well. Works surprisingly well, even without liquids of any type. |

Micro fiber with a few drops of water did the trick. It even washed off all the concrete. Great stuff. Thanks! -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

It worked well. Thanks -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

Just make sure it's suitable for cleaning optics. A fair bit of "micro fiber" cloth out there is actually fairly ABRASIVE. Stick with stuff designed for cleaning camera lenses and the like and you're much better off. And whatever you do, do NOT go near it with any sort of "cleaner" that's not specifically designed for the purpose. Many cleaners have solvents that will make matters worse. |
