Here's the link you've all been asking for. http://oldbluewebdesigns.com:80/mybeautifulamerica.htm Very nice photos, although I could have done without the silly US-shaped mask treatment. Here's a link to a Quicktime movie that is a slide show of photos of the Southwest. All photos by Laurent Martrès. He's an interesting guy, I recently purchased one of his books. WARNING!!! The first several frames of the movie blatantly mention that books have been written for unspeakable purpose of commercial sale, and that photography workshops are available for the same dastardly purpose. If such things offend you, then please spare yourself the agony and move on. Nothing to see here. For the rest of you, enjoy the show. http://www.worldviewphoto.net/southwest_movie.html |

http://www.worldviewphoto.net/southwest_movie.html Very nice although the music seems at odds with the images. Have you ever seen "Two Guys, Four Corners" by Don and Fred Imus? There are some incredible images in that book. http://www.amazon.com/Two-Guys-Four-.../dp/0679453075 A good used one goes for about $4 - it's worth it. |

Sort of a Native American/Sedona Vortex/New Age mix thing. Think David Carradine with his flute, just before he opens a Costco-sized can of whoop-ass. The sitar in the opening was a bit out of context, but overall, it worked for me. Have you ever seen "Two Guys, Four Corners" by Don and Fred Imus? I'd love to go on one of the workshops, but wouldn't it be a bitch to pay $1295 and then end up with a cloudy week? -- Sunny weather would be optimal, but I don't think cloudy weather would necessarily be a total bust. Shooting in overcast skies is just another skill to be mastered. A buddy of mine and myself are seriously considering signing up for an upcoming workshop. Considering the workshops run for five days, and all that they include, it's really not as expensive as it sounds. In a small-group setting, I'm thinking you could learn more from one of these guys over five days than you could learn from reading a dozen books. And have more fun in the process. |

When we lived in Arizona, my father used to go out in the spring time just to take photos of the cactus flowers blooming. Somehow them seemed so out of place with the stark Sonora desert "moonscape" as a backdrop. |
