Not in Ft Myers (Comcast/Giganews). It sometimes hangs for 20 or 30
seconds trying to find the server

Using Giganews via Comcast here south of Boston. New headers load right
away, most posts download and display right away, but some take 15-20
seconds before downloading. Usually everything is pop - pop - pop.

Here near Chicago (Comcast/Giganews) retrieving headers seems normal
but getting bodies hangs badly,

No problems across the river in Cape Coral on Super News. I have the
SuperNews IP address plugged directly into the news reader which helps
to bypass our periodic DNS slowdowns.

It could be that the feeds are changing around a little. Easynews did
the same thing last week - I thought it was my computer. What
happened is that it would connect right away, but it wouldn't retrieve
the headers immediately - a little hang, and bodies were abnormally
slow.

I still think it's terrorists.

Maybe it is Microsoft? Vista release problems.

AFAIK, Earthlink is still offline. I signed up with Teranews and they
had a short series of problems but are now back to 100%. I don't think
the ISP's give much attention to usenet due to the small percentage of
their customers who use it.
