But the water surface was still soft...
A week ago, today, it was in the 50's here in N. Illinois. Grandson and I
both got new fishing reels from his father for Christmas so I suggested he call my son and arrange a fishing trip in his boat for Sunday. Didn't occur to me that it might turn colder. Water was still soft, so we did go and caught a couple of nice Walleye, but I tell you, the wind chill in a boat moving along at 40 or so was evil. Got off the water just as it started raining. Never thought that I would ever be in a boat on the Pec river in January but all in all it was a fine day. Tom G. |

And on 12/31, my wife and I were out all day on our local chain of lakes in
our shorts and t-shirts! Of course, that's probably not as unusual here in Florida as it is in Illinois... "Short Wave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... I'm almost tempted to take out my Princecraft just to take a ride. |
