Got four movie tickets.
Took the kids to see "The Good Shepherd" (not that Good Shepherd, it's a movie about the CIA). Excellent flick, by the way. Judging by the previews for several upcoming films where graphic violence and special effects have been substituted for plot, dialogue, and character development, we won't be seeing too many movies for a while. It's nice to head into the post-Oscar wasteland with a good one under the belt. Four movie tickets and an afternoon with my son and daughter home for the holidays? Way cool indeed. |

We got an iRobot "Roomba". Strange and amazing little sucker. After watching it vaccuum a few rooms in it's own silly OCD way... we named it "Little Mr.Monk". I'll know I've mastered the dark side of the force, when it runs away in terror at the sight of me approaching.... :)) -W "Short Wave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... I did. :) |

Yep...
An 8 piece S&K 3/8 extension set. From 1-1/2 to 24 inch extensions. Not the biggest or most expensive present, but I love nice tools. Oh, and a gift card from Northern. They have a workbench on sale, half rubber topped, half steel topped, 2 drawers and 3000 lbs capacity. If they have one in stock, it'll be in my shop today. Jack |

Wouldn't it be cool if it was attached to a little internal generator that recharged the battery in the field? Maybe not. |

Isn't that called a point-n-fiddle-n-measure-n-tweak-n-shoot? :-) Reminds me of a friend back in my college days who was attending the Art Institute of Atlanta, taking photography. For a class project, he checked out two 4x5 view cameras, in their big, heavy cases, and a large, heavy tripod. We hiked those cameras about a mile upstream somewhere in northern GA to some falls, and set them up in the middle of the stream to photograph the falls. Managed to do it without dropping anything into the water. That broke me from ever ever wanting anything bigger than a 35mm SLR. :-) |

It is - I've spent the entire morning just reading the get aquatinted material. :) And it looks like I'm going to have to break down and buy Photoshop CS2 (or 3 - apparently there is a Beta version out). Take a hard look at PhotoShop Elements 5.0 before you write the check for CS2 or CS3. Elements provides at least 85% of the photo editing capabilities of the CS product, but with is much easier to learn and a fraction of the price. |

OK, it's an old style designed digital camera. Prolly very expensive too
(hats off to the kids). Is it really practical though? What do lenses cost? Are they even available? I'll take my 10 meg Canon Rebel any day. It's the same one my bud (a professional photographer) makes a VERY good living with. No offense. Oh yeah, the spelled color wrong in the specs. ;-) --Mike "Short Wave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... On Tue, 26 Dec 2006 08:30:01 -0500, Jack Goff wrote: Yep... An 8 piece S&K 3/8 extension set. I tried a wheel barrow tire for my guy and it didn't take long before I was
cleaning up pieces of tire from everywhere. I'll give that mini-spare idea a try. The BEST part is that he chews on nothing unless I give it to him. No furniture, shoes, kids balls, etc. He's a good pup. --Mike "Clams Canino" wrote in message ink.net... "Mike" wrote in message et... We tried that several years ago.
