Hi - how've you been?

Tom,
Doing very adequate, just finishing up wrapping some my Christmas
presents for my wife. Some Polorid Filters, and a nice tripod. This
Nikon D50 has cost me my left nut so far, I am trying to hold onto the
other one.

Did you get offered a class on using the D50 when you purchased it? The
place from where I bought the one for my wife signed her up for a Nikon
class. Once I locate my receipt for the D200 I can get signed up. I'm
wondering if it's worthwhile.

I actually took about 6 classes to help my wife learn the camera, all
offered for free from Wolfe Camera. What I found is I learned at least
one thing at each class, but it is really very basic.

I actually didn't even buy my camera from Wolfe Camera, but I still got
into all the classes. I just told them I didn't get the "tickets" when
I purchased the camera, and they gave them to me.

By the way, we have the 18-200mm VR lens and use it for about 90% of the
time. If I was taking sports or action wildlife shots, I would switch
over to the 70-200 for the faster focus, but it is one hell of lens.
Now that your wife has her D50, you will need to pick up the other lens.

No one around here has the lens, and the folks I use most want the full
payment just to order it, with no idea when it will arrive. You mentioned a
firm in a post a while back, but they were out of it also.

I want it! We're taking a cruise in October, and I definitely want it for
that.
