But they sure do look beautiful. I am another one of those people who
are glad when someone else owns and maintains a woodie, they make the
whole dock look better.

It all depends on what sort of "woodie" you are maintaining. LOL

There are probably plenty of alt.sex NG's that would be more appropriate
for the two of you to discuss the merits and thoughts of maintaining a
"woodie"
