I spied a late sixties '68 GB42 (don't know the exact year) this
morning when I was down south. Chatting with the yard owner, it
apparently has been retrofitted with relatively new Yanmar diesels -
180 hp each. He didn't know the hours, but it's probably somewhere
around 500 hours on both engines. I'm going down tomorrow morning with
the broker to look at it.

I know this sounds like heresy for a small boat, outboard guy, but I
really liked the look of the boat - for some reason, it looks
"different" than the usual GB - the boat just appealed to me.

Anyway...

Is there anything I should look for when prowling the boat tomorrow?
Anything peculiar to GBs? What should I expect for fuel mileage in
terms of gph?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Er... I think it would be a little bit cold to do something like that
this time of year, but my wife would love to do something like that in
the spring or so.

HEY! If you get it, I hope you have good fortune with the GB. Those
are a darling looking boat.

Actually, it's been extremely pleasant here in the midwest , that is,
for the moment.

today the weather is to be in the high 60's. Tomorrow to be a bit
cooler. BUT I was going to say,t hat seeing it's easy to winterize a
3.0 and if it was going to be warmer tomorrow, I'd be tempted to take
the ChrisCraft to the lake for a nother round or so.

My nephew and I might just have to head to the river in his boat
though. He's really tempted.

Actually, it's been good weather for fishing the past week.

Black fish and big bass.
