Trailer compatibility with 72 Correct Craft Skier

When I bought my 72 Correct Craft Skier, it had a home-built trailer
(which I'm still using). It's very sturdy and works fine. However,
the boat sits quite high on the trailer, which means I've got to back
the tow vehicle further into the water than I'd like to (normally, the
pickup the pickup bumper touches the water).

If I were to look for a different trailer, is there a way to determine
if it fits my boat (without actually attempting to load my boat onto
it) ? My boat is 16.5' long, which is obviously much shorter than
modern ski boats.

Most of the trailers I have seen for ski boats have special arrangements
where the prop and rudder are located. That will limit your choices. Other
than that look for adjustability.
