Although always invited to take out the boats I care for, I never would "borrow" someone's boat without the owner aboard. I value their friendship far more than I value their boats. One of them gave me a really nice embroidered cap that says "Captain Larry" in beautifully-done script across the front. I eyed him suspiciously and said, "Aha! You just want me to put this on if we crash into someone!"....(c; When someone on the dock greets me with that yachtie "captain" crap, my response is always lots of fun...."Uh-un, I'm the 3rd mate, Engineering.
