We have those damned electronic voting machines in Maryland, the ones
that do not provide any printed record of your vote.

I have never in my life, no matter what voting method was being used,
been provided a written copy of my ballot. I suspect that such would
be quite handy when I wanted to get my $10 for voting "correctly"....

The written piece is just to see if the machine recorded what you
voted. It then goes in the box at the polling place. You don't get
to carry it out. It's there for a possible recount. Just like punch
cards were, although you couldn't read the punchcard, and the machine
cams could be tinkered with.
Electronic is better if you can confirm your vote was recorded
properly and the confirmation is kept at the polling place.
It's not rocket science and the feds have to impose standards
to keep the faith.

But....but.......the owner of Diebold is a republican......as are the owners
of Apple and Microsoft.

Don't you understand that it is a conspiracy to *steal* the elections by
switching to electronic voting?

Interestingly enough the Democrats demanded it after their idiot voters in
Palm Beach County could not understand a simple butterfly punch ballot. So
we spend $4 billion to go electronic and they now want paper ballots.

We can always count on those funny Democrats to bitch about something. ;-)
