I don't think so. There is some speculation they jump to relieve
themselves of parasites.

Nope. They can and do jump from time to time. I've seen it in the
Gulf more than once.

I've always subscribed to the "diver giving the ray a goose" theory
myself. :)

I've never seen a jumping stingray down here on the South Coast.
