Pre-Alpha Mercursier HP165
 

I am the proud new owner of a 20' fiberform deep-V that the previous owner gave to me.
It has a Mercrusier hp165 stright 6 with a pre-Alpha outdrive. Well the previous owner beached the lower end of course its trash. From what I understand is that the top section of the outdrive has the gears to match the motor H.P. and the bottom section is more or less exchangable (of course it must be a pre-alpha or alpha1) I am looking for a pre-alpha lower end and would like to purchace the right unit. Any input would be helpful!!

If just the lower is affected, that's all you need.

but shop around - aftermarket units are now available, you may get some
off-season pricing too, especially on eBay(you may be better off buyng a
whole boat w/ trailer on eBay... w/ a cache of spare parts attached!).
