Merc/Mariner Stator replacement
 

I've got an 1984 Mariner 115 inline 6 that I want to replace the stator and
trigger on. In looking at the FSM I noted that a flywheel holder and a
flywheel puller are recommended for this job. Not having same, I wonder if
the job can be accomplished without those tools and how.
