flywheel removal

How do i remove the flywheel from a 1956 johnson ob motor it is 15 hp, when
i remove the lock not on crank and attempt to remove the flywheel, with a
puller. It will not move i cannot see any lock rings or any other type of
locking device except the lock nut. I need to change points and condensors,
please advise. This one has me stumped. Thanks for any and all help. Old

After removing the nut on the crankshaft that holds the flywheel, you can
use a steering wheel puller or harmonic balancer puller rented from an auto
supply store. If I remember correctly, use 1/4-20 bolts in the flywheel's 3
threaded holes. You might want to enlist the services of someone
experienced if you are unsure what to do. Be sure to use a torque wrench and
consult a service manual for the ignition parts replacements and adjustments
along with the correct flywheel nut torque.
