Killing stingrays

I have heard that some people have killed stingrays as "revenge" for
Steve Irwins death but I wonder how many of these were simply rays that
got hooked and then killed cuz its a lot easier to do that than unhook
em.
People used to say that unscrupulous restaurants would cut up rays and
serve them as "scallops" but I never tried this myself. My brother in
law claims he did it by skinning one and cutting it into small pieces
but I dont remember if he said they tasted like scallops. Of course
long frozen "scallops" from many cheap restaurants might not taste
anything like fresh bay scallops so maybe they do taste like ray.

I've had ray, pretty tasty. I do, however, think it's idiotic for
someone to kill stingrays for "revenge".

Kids, maybe. Imaginary enemies to them.
