Prop selection for 90 HP Merc HELP!!!
I currently have a 13.75 X 15" pitch Mercury Black Max Aluminum prop on my
90 HP Merc 2 stroke and it will run up to 6000 RPM. I am worried as the engine is rated 90 hp at 5500RPM If I go to an Apollo Stainless 3 Blade 13.25" dia x 17" pitch SR will that probably take my RPM to the 5500 RPM range I want to be at? Fredo |

Probably close enough.... and don't run it at WOT as an SOP unless you're
racing for money. -W "FREDO" wrote in message . .. I currently have a 13.75 X 15" pitch Mercury Black Max Aluminum prop on my 90 HP Merc 2 stroke and it will run up to 6000 RPM. Prop selection for 90 HP Merc HELP!!!
Thanks,
I don't plan to but I have a 19 year old son who might! I think I will keep the 15 pitch prop as a spare.. Now I just need someone to buy a Ballistic S.S. 13.50 X 17 prop for a Johnson Evinrude or OMC that the guy I bought my boat from gave me to put on my boat when he sold it to me. I put it on E-Bay. We'll see if it sells ....starting price is 90.00 I don't think I should advertise it on here. Fredo "Clams Canino" wrote in message ink.net... You could probably put a little cup in the 15" prop and bring the RPM down. I am not aware how I could do this? But I will research it on the web tomorrow. Thanks, fredo |
