Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
for a three hour tour, a three hour tour... The weather started getting
rough,
the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost;

uncharted desert isle, with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire, and his Wife,
the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann, here on Gilligan's Isle.

Green acres is the place for me.
Farm livin' is the life for me.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide.
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

New York is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

You are my wife.
Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there.

Come listen to a story 'bout a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed
And then one day he was shootin' at some food
And up through the ground came-a bubblin' crude.
Oil, that is. Black gold. Texas tea...

Well the first thing you know, 'ol Jed's a millionaire
the kin-folk said "Jed, move away from there!"
They said "Californy is the place you ought to be!"
So they loaded up the trunk, and they moved to Beverly

Hills, that is. Swimmin' pools; movie stars..

Well now its time to say good-bye to Jed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin' in.
You’re all invited back next week to this locality
To have a heapin' helpin' of their hospitality

Hillbilly that is. Set a spell. Take your shoes off. Y'all come back
now, hear?

The best series ever...

Born on a mountain top in Tennessee
The greenest state in the land of the free
Raised in the woods sos he knew ev'ry tree
Kilt him a b'ar when he was only three
Davy, Davy Crockett, the king of the wild frontier

He fought single-handed through the Injun War
Till the Creeks was whipped an' peace was in store
An' while he was handlin' this risky chore
He made hisself a legend for evermore
Davy, Davy Crockett, king of the wild frontier

Oh when he lost his love his grief was gall
In his heart he wanted to leave it all
And lose hisself in the forests tall
But he answered instead his country's call
Davy, Davy Crockett
The choice of the whole frontier

He went off to Congress and served a spell
Fixin' up the Government and laws as well
Took over Washington so we heered tell
And patched up the crack in the Liberty Bell
Davy, Davy Crockett, serving his country well

When he come home his politickin' done
Why the big western march had just begun
He packed up his gear and his trusty gun
And lit out grinnin' to follow the sun
Davy, Davy Crockett, a leadin' the pioneer

His land is biggest and his land is best
From grassy plains to the mountain crest
He's ahead of us all, a meetin' the test
And follerin' his legend right into the West
Davy, Davy Crockett
The king of the wild frontier

King of the wild frontier

ROTFLMAO

One of the links on that site invites you to check the "history" of
this boat.
Figuring they meant the TV history, I clicked on it and instead was
invited to order a collision and damage abstract based on the HIN. :-)

I can see it now, "Vessel was wrecked on a deserted island......."

And not to pee on the guy's parade, but the only time this particular
boat was ever seen on TV was in a long-distance, split second view of a
boat motoring out past a breakwater
in the opening credits beginning with the second season. That shot was
filmed at Marina del Rey, which should surprise no one at all, and the
boat was rented by the hour from its owner. Yes, it was "a" Minnow, but
not *the* Minnow most people would assume when hearing the name.

There were a total of four boats used in the filming of Gilligan's
Island. One was not actually a boat, but just a studio prop. TV
audiences must have been fairly unsophisticated 45 years ago (what
could be unsophisticated about watching Gilligan's Island?), as there
is only a cursory resemblance between the four boats.

So the seller's claim is true, but could be misleading. This boat was
never seen close up, or washed up on the beach, etc, like the others in
the TV series were.

No way is this boat worth $100k, IMO, split second appearance in
Gilligan's Island not withstanding.

Correction: The boat was purchased by the studio, not rented. The boat
filmed in Hawaii was rented. Sorry.

Chuck,

You've got a better eye than I do. In the pic from the original
post, the portholes are round. At the Gilligan's island website, I only
see boats with rectangular portholes (or none). Would someone 'restore'
a boat and make such a change?

It goes well beyond that.

Look at Boat #1 at the website:

Looks like two portlights in the trunk cabin, large hardtop overhang
above the cockpit,
stubby little flybridge cowling that resembles the gawd-awfuls people
used to scab onto
sedans when having a flybridge became *the* thing in the 1960's. The
sheer line looks like a ski jump and the bow is a mile high as if the
boat were designed to punch through surf or something.

Boat #2 has a larger cabin (see the difference in the size and shape of
the cabin windows just forwward of the aft bulkhead?) and therefore,
not surprisingly, a smaller cockpit. Still has a lot of sheer, but
nothing like we see in the last and smaller photo of
boat #1.

Boat #3 (The Canadian Minnow) has an extended flybridge cowling,
cockpit coaming, a signal mast not seen on the other two boats and
different portlights. Substantially less overhang above the cockpit.
The hull appears to have a less pronounced elevation in the bow, but
that could just be the photos.

And "Boat" #4 is of course not a boat at all, but rather a studio prop
built to look like a shipwreck.

The first three boats are just remotely similar, and the 4th isn't a
boat at all.
