I am currently restoring a Mercury Mark 58. I am at the point to do the
chrome trim. Can anyone please tell me how I can remove the plastic Mercury emblem safely off the front trim piece and what to use to reattach it with. My thought is to use a heat gun on the back side. Thanks in advance , Matt. |

Heat to the back is correct.
Silicone will work to re-fasten it. Liquid nails is closer to stock stuff. Those meatballs ARE available new if you break it. Let me know. Larry R (in NH) on John's Old Mercury Board is a master at restoring Kiekhaefer stuff. -W "Matt Pieklik" wrote in message ... I am currently restoring a Mercury Mark 58.
