Fog an EFI?
I am having a lot of trouble with my Volvo I/O and I was told by a
mechanic that an EFI should not be "fogged" to winterize it or it may foul the plugs, fuel pressure regulator and fuel injectors. I am having a problem with all of these items. He said to winterize the motor just disconnect the fuel tank, attach a seperate gas can with gas, some outboard motor oil to lubricate and Stabil. Run that for about 15 minutes. Add Stabil to fuel remaining in tank, drain water add ati-freeze and that's all. Any comments on this?? Thanks Tom |

I don't see that fogging will have anything to do with the pressure
regulator. And at most it will sit on the outside of the injectors. I would not have any problem fogging an efi engine. The main point of fogging is to get some oil in the cylinders for storage. You can also remove the plugs, squirt a little oil in each cycliner, crank it over a few times, and then put the plugs back in. wrote: I am having a lot of trouble with my Volvo I/O and I was told by a mechanic that an EFI should not be "fogged" to winterize it or it may foul the plugs, fuel pressure regulator and fuel injectors.
