Looks like it about time to.....................

.........switch the boating from heading out to the beach to heading out
fishing.

We went out yesterday and had another great day at the local swimming spot.
However, the water is getting cooler and the days shorter. The jumbo perch
are also now hitting.

Cleaned, oiled and changed the line on the reels. Fixed the tip on my
favorite fishing rod. And best of all my wife is looking forward to doing
some fishing. Nothing like stocking the freezer with jumbo yellow perch
fillets for wintertime fish fries. ;-)

beautiful day here. Overcast, humid and not hardly any breeze this
afternoon. I was wanting to hit the lake right after noon, but decided
to fix a water leak on my boat engine, only to cause worse problems. I
got ti taken care of about an hr. ago, but too late int he day to do
some serious boating for me.

Days ARE getting shorter, and my dad said theres an old rule of
natgure,t hat there's almost no swimming done (here in the mid-west)
after school starts, evidently because the nights are down int he 60's
and the water temp really drops.

Sure would be nice to do some cruising though.

Glad to hear you fixed the problem

We have jumped into the water in late September, espcially after a fishing
on a hot day. ;-)

Sure would be nice to do some cruising though.

Go for it.

Labor day weekend thats the "come heck or high water" plan (hopefully
plenty of high water)

I'll be at the lake from 6 am to when ever. Hope to come home
gawd-awful tired.

Wash and wax the boat when finished boating. That'll wear you out for sure.

Yessir. and that will happen right at winter prep. About the last
things done.

BTW, With exception of making a three hr. job out of what shouldn't
have taken over 30 min.

My day has been great!

You didn't tell us what happened. I'm glad it worked out though!

Polishing (3M Finesse It II), then waxing (Collinite Fleet, paste) my boat
in Spring now takes a little over 5 hours. It was a different story with
our 32 footer.

I do not wax again until the water is warm enough for me to be in it at our
beach area, this time using Meguiars Flagship (liquid). I probably waxed
the boat with Meguiars 4 times this year, although I wipe it down/clean it
each time we are at the beach.

At the end of the season I will wash the boat using quality boat soap then
give it a final wax job (Meguiars) before putting it to sleep.

As you can see I like to keep the boat nice looking and enjoy waxing it down
while in the water during the summer. ;-)

Humor working on the ChrisCraft thread, John. Drilling and tapping then
searching the hardware stores for a plug. I found one even though I was
threatening to use a short steel bolt with a makeshift gasket.
