older merc 80hp no fire
 
well i got this boat cheap and was told there was no fire so where
should i start to find the problem? Iv rebuilt auto motors so im not
new to motors. Can i take a new spark plug and auto one and arc it on
the head to see if spark comes off it? Or this not going to work?

The boat is a 72, motor couldnt tell you if there is a way to tell,
tell me and il look. I looked for a year stamp and didnt find
anything.
