ideas for table hack

Got a table for the Sun Tracker from Overton's... stand diameter is
smaller than the factory holders. First thought was to use duct tape
to build it up, but that would most likely get messy quick. Think that
high temp tape (shiney aluminum looking stuff) would work okay? Other
ideas?

Order a smaller socket?

It came with a smaller one... but I was trying to keep both sockets the
same size as we have another table and may want to switch them around.

If you can take careful measurements, figure out the size of the insert
you need to bush the current socket down to the required diameter.

Your local plastics shop will make you a plastic bushing that you can
put into the larger socket to fill up the gap between the socket and
the leg. Probably cost you $30 or so.

That would work if there's enough thickness to the shim to keep it
from breaking.

Another approach is to wrap the leg with heavy duty mylar and build it
up as needed. You should be able to get some from a sailmaker if
there are any near you.

Wrap with metal flashing (nice and flexible) until you reach the
desired diameter, secure the end with a little epoxy like JB Weld.
