Help - Won't Start.......
Hello,
Newbie with a used boat.... I have no power at the ignition switch. When I jump power to the switch, everything works great. I took the Quicksilver controls out last night thinking it might have something to do with the nuetral safety switch but it appears fine (best I could tell) I will check it again tonight. The controls are Quicksilver with the only number I could find stamped in the backing plate #1107. The outboard motor is a 1987 XR2 Black Max Mercury. The motor runs fine. Like I said, if I jump the switch it starts right up. Help, help. I would love to take the kids out at least once this year in the boat. I appreciate your time. Dan |

There might be a circuit breaker involved. You'll have to back track the
wire until you find power. "dford" wrote in message oups.com... Hello, Newbie with a used boat.... I have no power at the ignition switch. When I jump power to the switch, everything works great. Thanks James,
I've got power to the controls..... 4 wires. There also is a "buzzer" in line. Could this be bad? Anyone have a wiring diagram? I have the one that came from Bayliner but that was with the Force motor so i am not sure if the controls are origianl or not. My guess is that they are not original. It's really hard to find accurate wiring diagrams for specific boats.
Service manuals for the motors usually have some wiring info that is mostly close. You could start there. "dford" wrote in message ps.com... Thanks James, I've got power to the controls..... 4 wires.
