Went out early this morning - 3AM and it was still hot even out on the
water.

Hit a Grand Slam with a monster blue fish, 38" striper and of all
things a Mahi along with a couple of fluke. Caught a bunch of blues
and schoolile stripers - all in all a good day.

We were back at the dock by 8 though - freakin' hot.

It's so hot, the dogs don't even want to go outside. :)

It's now, according to my handy dandy hi-tech weather station, 93
degrees with a heat index of, get this, 102.

THIS IS FREAKIN' NEW ENGLAND!!!

~~ mutter ~~

Mahi in Rhode Island???

We get a sampling of southern fish up here off the MA, CT and RI coast
during the summer. Mahi and even an occasional Sailfish show up.

blue fin off Block at last report.

Having tried my hand at fishing over the years I've determined that I really
can't get into chasing blues, stripers, sharks or whatever. But tuna
fishing is still fun and challenging to me. It's not a sure bet by any
stretch that you will even get a "hit" during a season, but when you do, all
hell breaks loose. One decent tuna can make your whole summer. My brother
and I still brag about our first and that was three years ago. Keeps getting
bigger in our minds, too.

This past Saturday, I was fishing with a friend and we saw a blue heron with
a wingspan of at least 30 feet. And, don't tell me it was the beer talking.

30 feet? Sure it wasn't a Cessna with a custom paint job?

No - it landed and grabbed a fish out of the water.
