Put up or shut up! Funny, you came here and ****ed everybody in the newsgroup off to the point where even Fritz didn't want anything to do with you, then go away and come back acting like the darling of the newsgroup. You aren't even a big enough man to quit calling me Kevin, when you know damned well I'm not him. |

If you are not Kevin you should ignore these posts that refer to Kevin. On the other hand you are probably too high on the weed you grow in your basement that you can't think straight. Anyway, have a nice day Kevin posting to the newsgroup all day long. |

I am working on moving to the Raleigh area. You can live on a golf course and be close enough to a lake that all you non-working and honey-do time can be spent leisurely. The is in stark contrast to the DC Metro area. Bert, are you thinking of the Falls Lake area? If not, what lake are you referring to. I like the Lake Gaston area, but damn if I can find more than one golf course up there. What luck...he returned just a day after Chuck went on his vacation. We only had one day to 'act up' & do whatever we wanted without getting our knuckles rapped. Yep. Where was he when Kevin jumped into the thread yesterday as the number one poster *ruining* his summer vacation post? Can there be something going on with those 2? Is romance in the air? And what kind of summer vacation post is it when all you say is that you had a gay old time? Probably spent a lot of time watching ladies golf on TV. You're participating in his crap? Damn, I'd have thought better of you. -- ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** John |

Yes, John, I'm not far from I-70 , I-57, I-64, and even I-55 for that
matter. (55 is a ways out there , though) But yes, I'd look for something more local to be around the kids., for you this would be a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live here...... JohnH wrote: On 30 Jul 2006 18:17:58 -0700, wrote: That's one thing about here. there's a big lake with gobs of fishing, and several golf courses, I don't know a thing about golf, but there's several places around. Carlyle Lake is just 50 mi. from the great Mississippi and St. Louis, where there's always something happening. The real drawback is the land doesn't ahve much beauty to it. mostly corn and bean fields. That is unless you get into Southern Illinois, or Missouri where there;s lots of hills. Another bad thing about this area. Well, I don't know if it's bad or not, but you're 50 miles from doing anything you like, the problem is, you have to go 50 miles to do anything you like........ Some say it's boring, others say it's peaceful. I say it's a little bit of both. JohnH wrote: On 30 Jul 2006 14:27:12 -0700, wrote: John, tell about your vaction? or at least, the good parts? The best part was shooting a 94 at Greensboro National. The worst part was shooting a 117 at Winston Lakes, both golf courses. We didn't get in any fishing, but I learned a lot from my brother who shoots from mid-70's to mid-80's, depending on the course. He convinced me that moving to someplace like Myrtle Beach for the golf and fishing could get to be a very expensive proposition. The good fishing is a long ways out and consumes vast quantities of gas. Slip fees are atrocious. I'm thinking now of the Wake Forest area of NC. There's a decent sized lake handy, so maybe I'd downgrade to something like a 17' CC with an engine big enough to tow the grandkids. Part of my decision process is distance from the kids and grandkids. The Wake Forest area is about 2.5 hours from Richmond, so it's a reasonable driving distance. Your area gets nice reviews, from what I see on the net, but it's too far from the kids. You must be pretty close to I-70, which I've ridden or driven several times. Southern Illinois doesn't have a lot of terrain, but some of the overpasses are exciting, if you like to see long distances! -- ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** John |

Compared to where I live now, houses are cheap down there! Tell me about it. I could sell my house here, buy one for cash on a golf course and still put a large chunk of money in the bank. |
