New auxiliary fuel system for the GW in Harry's photo....the one with the three 250-HP outboards. (Actually, this is the high endurance cutter Midgett being serviced by a Navy oiler off the coast of California). At the current fuel pump prices, I hesitate to guess how many hundreds of dollars worth of fuel is in the *hose* itself in this photo. :-) |
Fill 'er up!
I rememebr seeing a documentaryon the Queen Elizebeth (not the QE2) and
they had about a 6' or so line strung to it. and were giving here a good drink. It showed a meter on the pump just happily clicking away, at actually a pretty good rait, about a click every 12 seconds. The narrarator was commenting about the pump and said. Oh and BTW, that meter isn't reading gallons, it's reading tons!
