generator question
Hi all
I have a Quick silver 7.5 KW genset it starts and runs fine how ever, after about 30-90 minutes it just shuts down. for no reason that I can find. I hit the start button again, and its good for another 30-90 minutes. any thoughts? |

It's really hard to say, but if it restarts instantly with no cool down period or any thing else, it is possible that an automatic shutdown sensor for temperature, oil pressure, overload, etc is becoming inadvertantly activated because of a bad connection or defective sensor. Does it display any shut down codes on a panel somewhere? If so, that's where you need to start looking. It's also possible that a fuel line screen becomes clogged with debris, that then falls away after it shuts down, or some other fuel delivery issue. Does it make a difference whether or not it is running under heavy load? |

In addition to other ideas, you might check for a corroded ground
connection in the circuitry. "Big gus" wrote in message ... Hi all I have a Quick silver 7.5 KW genset it starts and runs fine how ever, after about 30-90 minutes it just shuts down. for no reason that I can find. I hit the start button again, and its good for another 30-90 minutes. any thoughts? |

Yup it will restart instantly
load or no load still does the same thing On Thu, 06 Jul 2006 12:08:35 -0400, Big gus wrote: Hi all I have a Quick silver 7.5 KW genset it starts and runs fine how ever, after about 30-90 minutes it just shuts down. for no reason that I can find. Most generators have them to protect against low oil pressure, over heat, loss of coolant, etc. Do you have an owners manual or local dealer? |
