Hello,

I've just bought a 16' mahogany Mercury Sabre inboard. The boat has a
chevy v-8 engine but I understand they came with Chrysler V-dirves?
The present engine, in need of rebuilding, has no gearing. The past
owner says they did that to get more power for skiing.

If anyone out there has any info on the Mercury boat building company,
the Sabre boat in particualr-- I think it was made from 1952-59, or
better yet a Sabre boat owner in the Southern California region I'd
really appreciate it.
