Earthlink newsgroups down again since June 28

Last month Earthlink news was down 8 days straight. It took their
offshore tech support 7 days to figure out there was a problem last
time. Are there any free news services, besides Google, that are any
good?
Jim

How about a one time $3.95 charge? I haven't used this as my ISP's news
server has always been reliable, so I can't comment on it's service.

If you go to uesnet and check retention times it cant fine the
newsgroups either. The whole usenet seems to be down again and you can
expect the usual of reset your modem screw with program settings and
every thing but waving dead chickens and chanting in Latin to the
server god. This will go for a couple weeks before Earthlink will
acknowledge that there is a problem then a couple weeks of there is a
problem but we give you more information as soon as available (never).
Then it will work for some short period of time and start all over
again.
