Newbie questions.. Force 125 starter solenoid
 

Hi everyone, first let me say I'm brand new to boating. Ive got a bit
of experience in motorcycle and auto mechanics but Ive just bought my
first boat last week and I'm in the process of getting it running.
What I've got is a '87 Bayliner Capri with a Force 125 outboard which
according to it's previous owner has not been used in about a year.
Apparently all that is needed to get her running is a starter solenoid.
The solenoid on this engine looks identical to the one in my Bronco. I
know that these can appear similar but be wired differently but I was
wondering if a Ford type solenoid would work on these Force engines?
Also just wondering what should be done besides the obvious fluid and
filter changes after a boat has been stored a long time.
