Yeah, I've thought about that. This is my home shop, so it will only
be used occasionally. I'm thinking that water filter with an
automatic drain in line a few feet away from the compressor will
suffice for most uses. Then I'll use a dessicant dryer for when I'm
spraying. Does that sound OK?

Most home shop guys I know (including myself) use exactly that setup.
Water trap near the compressor and the dessicant canisters that screw
into either your hose or your spraygun inlet. The dessicant is only
needed while spray painting anyway.

Seeing as how I can buy a truckload of desiccant cartridges for the
price of a refrigerated dryer, and I'll rarely be spraying anything,
I'll have to put up with it.
