Good grief, you're not selling that boat already, are you? I
was looking forward to hearing your tales of sailing
adventure in it!

The original poster is (I think) on his way, thanks to Don's

I really wanted to Doug, but I just don't have the time for it
unfortunately. Trust me, it pains me deeply that I took the time and
effort to pick it up, bring it East, refurb the hull, etc., and have
to turn around and sell it, but I haven't even taken the winter cover
off of it yet.

I figured it would be fun last fall, but the shoulder operation
screwed that up, then with my partner being down for the summer and
actually going back to work to help a long and good friend out of a
jam has just collapsed my time.

I'm glad it's not just the shoulder. That would suck.

I want to see the boat sailed by somebody who will enjoy it and have
fun with it.

Liz and I talked about keeping it through this summer and maybe
sailing it in the fall, but that is looking less likely as the Spring
goes on - having to help move some of the kids around, looking for a
house in SC this summer, visiting the kids, etc., just not enough
time.

Well, why not keep it on the back burner? It's paid for,
it's trailerable, it's a fun boat.

When I retired I figured I'd have plenty of time for everything that I
didn't have time for when I wasn't retired.

HA!!! :)

I can see that. My dad says he has to hire somebody to help
him be retired. Seems to be pretty busy.

Speaking of which, you up for lunch sometime in July when we're in
your area as we pass through?

Absolutley. Let me know when. You'll be on the ICW?

Not a doubt.... only concern would be trailering a boat that size. I
would love to have your boat (or similar) at a yacht club mooring or slip.

I'd better take it back before someone gets the wrong idea.
I was comparing my Sandpiper 565 (18.5 feet & 1200 lbs) with Tom's
Halman 20 (20 feet & 2500 lbs)

Its a surprisingly easy tow - the F-250 barely noticed it on the trip
East.

My uncle towed it with one of those six cylinder Explorer type Chevy's
- Blazer maybe? Nary a problem from what I've heard.

I think it has to do with the high CG of the boat on the trailer - not
much windage.

Any full-sized pickup ..or mid-sized SUV should do the trick. Compact
cars need not apply.
