Anyone cut down a Wenonah Voyager?

I've got a Wenonah Voyager C1 in kevlar ultralight which I am happy with
except for its well-documented problems with any sort of wind when the boat
only carries the paddler.

It has clearly been designed for shifting a load as well, but I only ever
want to use it as a recreational racer, where legal.

I am thinking of cutting it down maybe by 2" or so, all the way along the
shearline. That would leave the built-in buoyancy intact etc.

My question is, has anyone out there done this before? Clearly I'd have to
use new/longer gunnels (maybe light, wooden ones) and thwarts, and the
whole shape would be different as there would be less of a 'shoulder' at the
paddling station.

Has anyone done this before, and what sort of saw would I need, and any
other words of advice?

Thanks,

M
